Sundanese

Orthography (Writing System)

Home      Orthography      Morphology        Story/Song      Word List      Syntax   Language Use    Dictionary

The original script of Sundanese is not the latin alphabet that is currently in use.  The Sundanese Script is a unique script used only for Sundanese, which one can still see on some signage throughout the West Java region, but it is not in widespread use or currently taught to children.  Other scripts have also been used throughout history for writing the language.  We hope to see Sundanese Script used more often in the future.
