My name is Dzullfikri. The languages I speak are Indonesian, English, Arabic, Javanese, and Japanese. I was born in Jombang, East Java, Indonesia. You can call my mother tongue language Boso Jowo (Javanese). This language is spoken by about 75 million people in Java island. This is not national language but traditional language. I am interested in participating this program because I want to preserve this language from extinction and introduce this language to the world.

Background of the Language

Javanese is a traditional language spoken particularly in Java. This language is also used by many people living out of Java especially by thos e who have contanted with Javanese like in Sulawesi, Bali etc.The history of thiis language is amplified by Majapahit Kingdom whose authority reached most Indonesian Area in 8th century. To some degree, today, this language is probably in "danger" particularly because of young people's negative attitude toward this language. This cana be seen from their attribute they have or even the grades at their schools in which English grades are hifgher that the grades of their own language.
