I grew up in a christian orphanage as well as attended a christian school. Both the orphanage and the school was ran by an English woman who wanted all us children to maintain and keep our language and culture. To ensure this, we were taught hyms and songs in Kirundi. This particular song is called “Our God is an Awesome God,” and we sang it almost every day which helped me remember it.
