Akeanon generally reflects the morphosytnax of Visayan languages and the larger group of Filipino languages. It is a predicate initial language and has case markings, which are common features in the surrounding languages. However, it does differ in some of the case markings: in Akeanon ‘ro‘ is used as the nominative case marker while ‘it’ is used to mark the genitive, while in Hiligaynon, ‘ang’ and ‘sang’ are used respectively.
